Scheduled & corrective maintenance

A crane that is maintained on plan is a crane that does not stop production. Zella Cranes keeps lifting equipment efficient with scheduled preventive maintenance and rapid corrective intervention.

Why scheduled maintenance pays for itself

Unexpected crane downtime stops whole production lines and often causes secondary damage. A planned programme — agreed with you around your production calendar — finds wear before it becomes a failure, spreads costs predictably and keeps the equipment within the safety conditions it was designed for. It is also the basis for the record-keeping that workplace-safety rules expect of equipment owners. A typical programme combines periodic checks at agreed intervals — for example quarterly functional inspections plus a documented annual inspection — matched to the manufacturer's instructions and to how the equipment is actually used.

What preventive maintenance covers

Interventions follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions for each machine, adapted to its actual service. A typical programme includes:

  • Mechanical: hoists and trolleys, gearboxes, couplings, wheels, bearings, rail and runway condition, lubrication
  • Electrical: control panels, motors, cabling, contactors, radio remote controls, limit switches
  • Ropes, chains and hook blocks: condition checks against wear criteria, replacement by competent persons when needed
  • Brakes and safety devices: braking action, overload protection, emergency stops, end-travel limits
  • Visual and functional checks of the structure and of travel mechanisms

Our own service organization

Maintenance visits run on our own fleet: service vehicles — including trucks fitted with small cranes — carry components and tooling directly to your plant, and aerial work platforms give our technicians safe access to runway and girder level. Most work is completed on site, in step with your production.

Components, materials and site discipline

We fit original and widely tested components, and any waste generated by our interventions is disposed of properly. After every visit the crane is functionally checked and the work is documented.

Corrective maintenance and breakdown support

When something does fail, the priority is restoring safe operation quickly. We diagnose on site, repair with the right components, and — when field repair is not practical or economical — move the work to our workshop. After every intervention the crane is functionally checked and the work is documented.

Maintenance history and records

Every visit is recorded in a written report: what was checked, what was found, what was done, what is recommended next. Kept over time, these reports form the maintenance history of each machine — useful for planning replacements, supporting statutory verifications and evidencing your upkeep obligations.

Training for your operators

Safe cranes also need safe hands. On request we deliver safety and crane-operation training for customer personnel, covering correct use and the daily behaviours that keep lifting equipment reliable.
